Fire Screen

This Fire Screen was made from Brazilian Mahogany. Having machined the rebates on the spindle moulder the mitres were shot by hand and biscuited for additional strength. The slots in the feet were cut on the table saw. A template was shaped for the feet and they were rough-cut by jigsaw before finishing with a follow cutter on the router table. The feet were then doweled on to the frame. The new “AWA logo” was then inserted into the back of the frame. The Fire Screen was then finished with 2 coats of each coloured and colourless Sikkens Cetol TS Interior varnish. Finally, the Fire Screen was rubbed with synthetic wire wool and Liberon Finishing Oil before being burnished with paper towel.
